What Does It Cost to Remodel a Kitchen?
- Will we be doing some minor renovations or a full remodel replacing everything?
- Structural changes, changing the layout or altering the floor plan will have an effect.
- A larger kitchen will require more work, products and materials. Is the project limited to the kitchen or will the scope expand into adjacent rooms?
- Re-painting and upgrading the hardware on some nice existing cabinets may be option or will we need new ones?
- Quality laminate counter tops might be the perfect fit or it may be time for the dream kitchen with stone or composite counters.
- Are we looking at a full lighting overhaul or simply updating the fixtures?
- We could use the existing appliances or it may be time for kitchen equipment upgrades.
- Your budget will primarily be shaped by the size, scope, complexity and quality of the finishes selected.
Minor Renovations: $15,000 to $5,000
- A few practical improvements or cosmetic changes could make a big impact on the kitchen's function and feel.
- This may include a new sink, faucet and tile backsplash.
- Imagine how much better the kitchen will look and feel just by painting the cabinets and upgrading to new hinges, hardware and drawer slides.
- Is there room to add some tall pantry cabinets and little extra storage?
- New countertops, backsplash and a sink & faucet upgrade can be a dramatic minor renovation.
Entry Level to Semi-Custom Remodel: $30,000 to $15,000
- This is a cosmetic update focused on refreshing the space without changing the layout.
- We are painting the existing cabinets, maybe adding a few and replacing the cabinet hardware.
- This would include installing new countertops and backsplash, replacing the sink and faucet.
- We are often including new flooring, painting, updated lighting and maybe even some new appliances.
Semi-Custom to Custom Remodel - $60,000 to $30,000
- We are removing all the existing materials and replacing them with brand new products.
- This would include moving key elements and changing the kitchen layout.
- We could be adding more plumbing like a pot filler at the stove or a prep sink in the island cabinets.
- We love to shift away from harsh lighting and move to warm, welcoming tones with undercabinet lighting, pendants new ceiling fixtures.
- We begin to add more semi-custom details like crown molding.
- Our product selection will now move beyond practical, entry-level items, as we begin choosing from a range of mid-to-high-end and semi-custom options.
Custom Remodel: $150,000 to $60,000
- We are replacing everything and changing the layout.
- The project is on a much larger scale than the average kitchen.
- The complexity of the design and installation will be elevated.
- This project will include premium custom products and materials.
